Two tips to follow if you want to plant lots of trees on your property

Here are some tips to follow if you want to plant lots of trees on your property.

Don't buy the trees before asking an arborist to transplant them

You might think that it would be more convenient and perhaps even cheaper to order the trees yourself and to then only contact an arborist when you're ready to transplant them onto your property. However, it would be much wiser to have an arborist order these trees on your behalf. As the owner of a tree service business, the arborist can place orders for their clients with wholesale nurseries.

Your local wholesale nursery will most likely sell a huge variety of trees, and all of them will be sold at prices that are far lower than any you would come across at garden centres or at online plant retail shops. As such, if you engage the services of the arborist at the outset, they should be able to assist you in purchasing trees for less than you would have, had you ordered them yourself from, for example, a garden centre.

This could have a positive knock-on effect on your tree-planting project, as with access to these discounted prices, you might be able to order expensive trees that you would otherwise be unable to afford or to buy more of the mid-priced trees you originally wanted to buy. You can get a greater variety of trees at a lower price.

Take advantage of the wider variety of trees that the wholesale nursery will stock

As mentioned, wholesale nurseries usually have a very large variety of trees, far more than the dozen or so varieties that are usually in stock at most garden centres. It's worth taking advantage of this, as it could help you to utilise your new trees to make your property spectacularly beautiful.

For example, you could opt for some slightly rarer tree varieties, such as the katsura tree, which turns beautiful shades of deep red and gold in the autumn months, or the Yoshino cherry tree, which is a particularly lovely cherry tree variety that will produce delightful pink blossoms in the spring.

Exploring the nursery's varieties and choosing unusual and beautiful trees that are uncommon in your local area will make your property's gardens special. This will not only make them more pleasurable for you to spend time in but could potentially make your property stand out and attract buyers if you should ever choose to sell it.
